Ask What you can Invent and Sell to China

2010 February 3 responding to Forbes article by Shang-Jin Wei
Why Do The Chinese Save So Much?

This is indeed a paper full of flaws, fundamental flaws.
If China does not practice one child policy, which nation in history can afford to feed all of them, provide them with education, shelters, sanitation?
Tell me which nation do not have shanty town? How many you find in China?
Tell me how many homeless, orphants left on the streets, in major cities around the world? How are they compared with China?
This article is meaningless as it does not address the highest priority of any nation's policy making, macroscopically.
Microscopically, this article is a statistical analysis without fulfilling the critical requirements – cause and effect (causality). Without establishing there is real cause and effect, using statistic to derivate a predetermined or self-conceived relationship, any human can do, this is meaningless, useless, even destructive.
It is like measuring the timing of pendulum swing against sex ratio in the classroom.

To balance the trade, that is the core, root of all criticism against China, America must innovate new industries, products to sell to the world like what Intel, Microsoft, Communications did.

Ask not how others must not save,
Ask what can you invention, sell to others what others cannot make.
Americans are great innovators, go for it.
